Toseland Review

Tunbridge Wells Forum

14th Oct. 2016

Toseland came on to the stage at the Forum in Tunbridge Wells to a rapturous welcome from the floor, immediately launching into Cradle the Rage and taking the audience on a musical journey which included ten of the eleven tracks from their latest CD –nine in the set and ’We’ll Stop at Nothing’ in the encore; the only track missing being ‘Livin’ A Lie’. But if truth be told, it must have been a difficult decision to leave out any of the latest material.

All five of the band members –James Toseland, Ed Bramford, Zurab Melua, Roger Davis and Joe Yoshida are an eclectic mix of musicians who nevertheless have an impressive rock pedigree and it shows in the powerful and energetic delivery of their songs. Toseland’s vocals are gritty yet sophisticated ably supported by some tuneful and great sounding guitar riffs, so if that is how you like your rock then you won’t be disappointed.

From the moment they walked onto the stage they didn’t just play there, they owned the place!

The latest CD, Cradle the Rage, was released in March this year and is thoroughly recommended.

Illustr8ors Review

Tunbridge Wells Forum

14th Oct. 2016

Ramblin’ Man 2016 in Kent was the first time the Illustr8ors –formerly BlackWolf- had been seen live and from that initial outing they have gone from strength to strength. Fronted by their charismatic vocalist Scott Sharp, on this their first full UK Tour the act has been polished, refined and developed over the intervening months so now they can stand toe to toe with any band on the musical circuit. The other four members of the band, John Greenhill on Lead Guitar, Jason Cronin on Rhythm Guitar, Ben Webb on Bass Guitar and Thomas Lennox Brown on Drums have all successfully served their apprenticeship and have proved to be more than accomplished in their art.

The musical genre of rock is an umbrella that covers a plethora of different styles and interpretations but the Illustr8ors are beginning to carve their own unique niche in the field and their debut ep including the punchy single ‘Your Animal’ was released on 14th October.
