Last Great Dreamers 13TH Floor Renegades

Last Great Dreamers were formed in the nineties: originally called ‘Silverheart’ they eventually changed it, and this is their fourth studio album. Their style is sleaze, 60s 70s 80s rock and many of their influences on this album shine through.

Eleven cracking songs starting with New Situation, a toe tapping rock n roll number with shades of Cheap Trick and even the Who with Marc Valentine’s vocals and dual guitar with Slyder taking you back to the bygone age. Speed of light with its slow guitar riffs takes us to the punk days, I Think I Like It more punk but Ramones style. There’s something for everyone on this album.

These guys have been there and definitely worn the t shirts and even if you are hearing the other bands in their music, they still play in their own inimitable style.

The album was cleverly marketed to be released on Friday the 13th and after talking to the band they are really happy the way it all fell into place. They had a pledge campaign and the response to it was incredible says Slyder: hopefully with the album we get to pay back all their generosity.

With Last Great Dreamers brilliant lyrics, amazing choruses and a great sense of nostalgia they certainly will do that. Go out and buy 13th Floor Renegades go and see them live and get a taste of rock and pop the way it was and thanks to Marc, Slyder, Steve Fielding and Denley Slade and sometimes the legendary Berty Burton still is played.
