The Second Annual HRH Red Carpet Awards

The Second Annual HRH Red Carpet Awards

Camp HRH Pwllheli Wednesday 7th November 2018.

The second year for this special event and once again all aspects of the music industry: media, photographers, press, and the bands, were there in in their best rock and roll glitz, and for the lucky VIP fans this was going to another special occasion.

Everyone is greeted at the door and led to the HRH wall where they have a photo taken, all the tables have bottles of Burnt Out Wreck Whisky the sponsors this year and Fireball liquor (lovely stuff) and then it was time to mingle and mix till the big event.

The lights dimmed and the CEO of HRH, Jonni Davis takes to the stage to welcome everyone and to announce the first three categories and winners

THE ANGELS OF ROCK: WINNERS TEQUILA MOCKINGBIRD

STONER LORDS: WINNERS ORANGE GOBLIN

HRH RISING STARS: WINNERS THOSE DAMN CROWS.

Then after all the excitement had died down it was time for the first band of the night to entertain us, a band from Kent: COLLATERAL.

After their set, Jonni is back to announce the next three awards.

AXEMAN: WINNER PHIL CAMPBELL. A little mention on his speech, “I don’t know why I’m winning this, I just play guitar a bit in the band,” modest to the fore Phil.

YOUNG BLOOD: WINNERS FOOTPRINTS IN THE CUSTARD.

METAL MANIACS: WINNERS SAXON, where Biff dedicated the award to all the guys Philthy, Fast Eddie, and the man himself Lemmy.

Next live performance was from GORILLA RIOT. Then two more awards were handed out.

GLOBAL HEROES: WINNER MICHAEL MONROE and

HRH TUB-THUMPER, WINNER SAXON’S NIGEL GLOCKER.

More live entertainment from Midlands band DEVILFIRE.

And onto to the final two awards of the night

MJOLNIR AWARD-LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT,

WINNER HAWKWIND’S VERY OWN DAVE BROCK

And last but not least

HRH LEGEND, WINNER SAXON’S BIFF BYFORD.

He once again thanked Motorhead and especially Lemmy, for everything they had done for him and the band in the early days

And for making him and Saxon as successful as they are.

A little break for more chats and drinks then it was time for the final band of the night to play for us.

Local Welsh Lads Those Damn Crows, who earlier apart from Mr Campbell seemed most surprised to win the award.

And that was the red-carpet awards for another year, and once again the HRH team had done a fantastic job.

The three-day event that is HRH 12 was to start the next day so no rest for them. Everyone had fun tonight but the real fun was only just about to begin.
