Zone 52 Festival

Zone 52 Festival Held at Billing Aquadrome, Northampton from 9-11 June and run by NB’s Outdoor Events and Blackbush Promotions Northampton. This is the first Zone 52 Festival to be held, the weather was mostly kind although very windy. A great selection of bands, from local unsigned bands to top tribute acts. It was unfortunate that the dates clashed with another huge music festival, as well as local events. Although the audience was small, every band gave their best. Day 1   started off with The Touch, An originals band from Northampton. Rock/Pop & punk Band 2 – Austin Gold 5 piece blues outfit. Band 3 – Rob...

Album Review : Balef...

As album titles go Siesmic Shifter has to be as close to spot on as you can get. If this release does not propel the Belfast boys to new heights I will be gobsmacked. Living in Scotland we haven’t had much chance to see this bunch live but luckily I caught them at Wildfire Festival...

Sittingbourne U18 v ...

Sittingbourne U18 v Ramsgate U18 Woodstock April 30th, 2017 As the Sittingbourne players walked out of the dressing room alongside today’s rivals, Ramsgate, they knew that only a win would see them crowned as winners of the U18 Kent Youth League, Premier Division South. They came out...

FAVERSHAM TOWN – HOME / RYMAN LEAGUE DIV 1 S...

It started with dramatic late goals and it was fitting that the season – at home, anyway – should finish with yet another one. Substitute Keanu Williams got the 90th minute winner to cap a superb Sittingbourne fightback which overcame local rivals Faversham. It gave Sittingbourne their highest points total for eight seasons – with one more game still to go – and in front of their second biggest home crowd of the season. Not only did the match finish in style for Sittingbourne, but what followed immediately afterwards was just as memorable in its own way. Both manager Nick Davis and captain Jono Richardson brought their young children...

Cutlass – EP Review...

Cutlass – EP Review From the moment you put on Cutlass, it will rip through your speakers with its grungy doom sound and with vocalist Lucy Grogan’s dark and wicked siren song, it will blast you to smithereens. The EP starts with Death Bell which is dark and gloomy, and...

CHIPSTEAD – AWAY / RYMAN LEAGUE DIV 1 SOUTH

CHIPSTEAD – AWAY / RYMAN LEAGUE DIV 1 SOUTH It’s hard to believe that Chipstead’s Picturesque ground is only a few minutes from the M25, and like ours ground it’s not that close to the main conurbation and that was reflected in the small crowd of 70, quite a few coming from Sittingbourne. Sittingbourne had another new signing making his debut in Keanu Williams who has signed from Margate and he had a sensational start to his Sittingbourne career by scoring with just over 1 minute on the clock. The goal came  from another recent signing  Kane Phillip who ran down the right and crossed inside to Williams who bundled the ball past a...

GODALMING TOWN – HOME / RYMAN LEAGUE DIV 1 S...

GODALMING TOWN – HOME / RYMAN LEAGUE DIV 1 SOUTH FINAL SCORE: SITTINGBOURNE 2 GODALMING TOWN 1 PLAYED 04TH MARCH 2017   Perhaps I’m getting mellow in my old age, but I felt sorrier for Godalming than I was delighted for Sittingbourne when the injury time winner went in. The bottom-of-the-table side had fought hard throughout and should really have been in front if they’d taken some great chances. But having run themselves into the ground, they stopped tackling and chasing in the last 10 minutes and Sittingbourne grabbed the initiative to take all three points. It was by no means the Brickies’ finest performance – they’ve played...

Miami Monroe @ Broadcast, Glasgow

Miami Monroe @ Broadcast, Glasgow Following on from a storming set supporting Single By Sunday In January, Miami Monroe take to the stage of Broadcast for a headline set before they set off on a whirlwind UK tour. Support tonight was by One Way Street, Better Days and Not Today and they put on a cracking show each and every one. They were all perfectly suited and this meant that the mostly Miami crowd were happy and I am sure the bands picked up some new fans north of the border. I will certainly be looking out for them when they are back up this way. As much as the support bands were a great teaser tonight was all about Miami...

Marco Mendoza\ Kane’d Hard Rock Cafe, Glasgow

Marco Mendoza\ Kane’d Hard Rock Cafe, Glasgow As bass players go Marco Mendoza has to be up there with a title like living legend. He has done his thing with some of the biggest and best bands and with some time off from the day job with the amazing Dead Daisies he has decided to do a run of solo dates in the UK. This venue can be a strange one, the lights are awful and for my liking there are far too many seats spread about which could have caused tonight’s support band Kane’d some problems as most punters bums were firmly seated. I can only take it most people had never heard of or seen this band live. If they had, like me they...
